THE FAMILIAL TRUST
The Familial Trust is a subsidized service. For nearly 18 years the Agency has managed to provide a low or no cost service. It has become a matter of necessity to ensure the Familial Trust can sustain its services for those in need long term to create more public awareness of our fee structure.
The Familial Trust operates a sliding fee scale from $85 to $30 per session.
This fee does not apply to children and young people under the age of 18. We do request a donation if possible.
If any of the above fees or information give you cause for concern please do not hesitate to discuss with your counsellor or support worker.
NO-SHOW AND LATE CANCELLATION POLICY
The Familial Trust staff is committed to providing efficient and effective services to as many people seeking support as possible. Because demand for our services is typically high and we usually have a waiting list, we ask that you only schedule appointments that you are confident you will keep. If you need to cancel an appointment, we request that you do so at least 24 hours in advance. 24 hours provides the opportunity for another person in need of support to attend the service.
For many years the Familial Trust has had in place a no show statement on our initial contact form which states the agency requires at least 24 hours’ notice if a client or clients are unable to attend an appointment and that if an appointment is missed without giving notice you may be charged a cancellation fee. This fee is set at $50.
This also applies to appointments made via the phone or other electronic methods. No further appointments will be booked until arrangements have been made to clear any outstanding fees.
We commit to this policy in such cases as forgetting about an appointment, choosing to make alternate plans, double-booking oneself, etc.The Familial Trust operates a text reminder service as a courtesy to clients where it is safe to do so; however it is the client’s responsibility to keep track of their booking/s with The Familial Trust as technology is not full proof and can fail.
However, we can appreciate that emergencies do arise and do not always allow for 24-hour notice. In the case of a medical emergency, or serious emergency you may talk to your counsellor about waiving the fee.
OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU
In keeping consistent with our own policies, Familial Trust Staff will also provide at least 24 hours' notice if they need to cancel your appointment. However, we also are not immune to emergencies and will do our absolute best to notify you as soon as possible should we need to cancel last minute.
