About Amir

Kia ora / Salam, I’m Dr Amir Moeinzadeh, originally from Tehran, Iran, and currently the Manager and Clinical Lead at Familial Trust. I have more than 14 years of experience in medical practice as a General Practitioner, alongside extensive experience in mental health, addiction support, and community wellbeing services.

My professional background includes managing and supporting rehabilitation services for people affected by substance misuse, working with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting individuals and whānau through recovery-oriented and person-centred approaches.

I also have experience in education and research, including working as a clinical researcher and tutor at the University of Canterbury. I hold a PhD in Health Sciences, with research focused on rehabilitation, wellbeing, and innovative approaches to healthcare and community support.

At Familial Trust, I am passionate about creating safe, inclusive, and compassionate spaces where young people, families, and communities feel heard, supported, and empowered to build resilience and connection.
