About Sam

Kia ora,

I am one of the Peer Support Kaimahi here at Familial Trust. I was born in Timaru, then moved to Marlborough before moving to Christchurch and called our beautiful city home for the last twenty years.

I have a background in hospitality, business and community support work. I have recently completed a Bachelor of Applied Science Psychology. I have lived experience and draw from this when working to support others.

I believe that to understand a person you must know the world in which they live. I enjoy walking alongside whanau members in their journey and supporting them when they need it most. Living with a family member who has an addiction can be an isolating position to be in. I enjoy connecting with people and showing them empathy and understanding.

I believe that respect for all people from all walks of life is paramount to the mahi that I do.
